RE: Selling food from RV? doable?

"giving" food away under any circumstances still holds you responsible if people get sick. As far as I am concerned, an encouraged donation is no different than paying for a meal.
It is kind of like all the hookers on craigslist that state explicitly they are not looking to sell sex but donations are strongly encouraged. Then they suggest what the donation amount is. They aren't kidding anybody and you wouldn't be either.
Yep!

RE: Anyone try to negotiate a shortsale with your bank ?

I guess I don't get it. Loans are discounted every day.
If I had a $100K loan with say 15 years to payoff on it and went in and ask the bank what they would take if I wanted to pay it off and they told me that they would take $80K there is something wrong with that?
All the bank has to do is say NO! It is their call.
This is like going to the dealer who has a $100,000 coach for sale and offering him only $80K and him taking it.
Or better yet say you bought something on your credit card when the interest was at 19% and you are making payments. All of a sudden the credit card company lowers the rate to 10%. Are you going to say "oh no, I bought when the rate was at 19, I'll continue to pay at that rate until the amount is paid off"?

RE: Coolant Question

Should also add that to much nitrate is just as bad as not enough. When you buy test strips check the expiration date on them to make sure they are still good. No need to buy a bottle of 25 strips.

RE: Question about selling MH....

It can take 2 or 3 months to know a cashier check is good. I have always used a wire transfer when selling and buying, only takes a couple of hours and you know you have the money in your account.
Unless the guy hands you the 50 large in cash (and even then it could be bogus)this is the way to do it.

RE: Turbo wastegate lube?

Stop in at a Freightliner, Cat, or Cummins dealer and pick up a bottle of lube. About 6 bucks for a small bottle but it will last a long time.
You might even find it in a auto parts store.

RE: Selling food from RV? doable?

Most definitely you will need a health permit and most likely you will need one for every county you want to operate in.
On edit, I see you are in CA. In CA you will need a health permit for every county.

RE: Rejex

:h UUmmmm, why would your cap turn bright green?
I use Rejex on the entire exterior of my coach, windows, windshield, aluminum wheels, however I don't use it on the tow bar. No bright green yet.

RE: Decision on Alpine Coach

But, if the dog chewed the arm off the blue leather sofa or peed on the deep green carpet, you're on your own finding matching materials.
CC does not keep a stock of drawer fronts but they do keep the patterns so thay cam make them on demand. CC does not keep fabric or ultraleather in stock but they keep records of what is used so replacing the blue leather sofa and deep green carpet would not be hard. It would be an aftermarket purchase but it would be available.

RE: Condensation

Ventilation is the answer. You should keep a window open at each end of the coach. You should use the furnace or roof vents to keep the air moving. The human body does let off a huge amount of water vapor and it needs to be removed.

RE: Bedroom carpet removal

Nope. You will probably find that the carpet is held down by staples. Just start at a corner and pull it up.

RE: cruise control question????????

A cruise control holds a constant speed. As long as the coach is at that speed, no more throttle will be added. If you have the speed set at 55 and you start down hill the speed will increase therefore satisfying the 55 so the throttle will be relaxed. Now, if you want to maintain the 55, you will have to add some braking.

RE: Decision on Alpine Coach

EVERY 2002 RV is orphaned. IF there were any additional spare parts that were specific to that rig, then someone has purchased them. You can still check with the dealers that used to sell them, or the dealers that bought their stock.
Not really, lets take Country Coach for instance. Every CC has its own serial number and each CC specific part has that serial number on it.
So, lets say that you, for some reason, break a drawer front on a drawer in the kitchen. Maybe your cat chews the corner off. You call the factory and give them your coach serial number and say you need the middle drawer front in the galley. The guy on the line says ok you have a 40ft Intrigue Sweet of Dreams with walnut, is that correct? I say yep, he says ok we will get you a a new front, where do you want it shipped?

RE: RV Waste Valve 101??

If you can't get the pipes far enough apart to insert the new valve, here is the way to do it.
Go to the hardware store and buy either plastic or sheet metal in a size large enough to cover the dimensions of the valve. Get the thin stuff, 1/16" or less. Cut two pieces, one for each side of the valve. Now install the gaskets in the valve. Use some soapy water or Pam, the cooking spray to lube one side of each piece of shim. Place the lubed side facing the valve on both sides. This makes a sandwich with a piece of shim on either side of the valve. Now pry your pipes apart enough to get the valve and shims started. Push the valve with shims into place, lining up the holes. Pull one shim out at a time while holding the valve in place. Install the bolts.
There you go.
